Virat Kohli’s brother, childhood coach, Rohan Jaitley in attendance at Ranji game

Star India batter Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas, childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and DDCA (Delhi & District Cricket Association) President Rohan Jaitley were seen watching his Ranji Trophy return on Thursday, January 30 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Kohli made a comeback to Ranji Trophy after a long gap of over 12 years as he participated in Delhi’s fixture against Railways.

As the local boy marked his return to represent his city after a long time, fans thronged to the stadium to witness Kohli in action. As a result, people from all age groups came to watch the India star play with chants of his name pervading inside the stadium.

Among his several fans, there were a couple of people who saw Kohli turning into a modern-day great right from his formative years as his brother Vikas Kohli and coach Rajkumar Sharma were also present to at the venue. Along with them, DDCA President Arun Jaitley was also spotted.

Massive crowd causes commotion

Meanwhile, the Arun Jaitley stadium was buzzing seeing Kohli play at his home ground as they sang the famous chant ‘Kohli ko bowling do!’ (Give bowling to Kohli). A fan from the crowd even did the daring act of breaching security to meet up with his favourite star as he rushed to the pitch during the break between the overs. The fan came running towards Kohli and bowed down to touch his feet and security personnel came rushing behind him to take him away.

Earlier, fans had started queuing up outside the stadium as early as 4 am, as a long 2km line full of people could be seen at the entry gates. Initially, only three gates were scheduled to be opened for the fans.

However, seeing a massive influx of crowd, the DDCA (Delhi & District Cricket Association) decided to open an additional gate as well. The commotion even led to a couple of fans falling near the entry gate and getting injured.
