WATCH: Shardul Thakur takes hat-trick for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy match against Meghalaya

Shardul Thakur claimed a hat-trick for Mumbai against Meghalaya in a Ranji Trophy fixture at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai on Thursday.

Thakur dismissed Balchander Anirudh, Sumit Kumar, and Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva in the third over, becoming the second bowler to take a hat-trick in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, after Himachal Pradesh’s Rishi Dhawan against Pondicherry.

In the next over, Mohit Avasthi took his second wicket as Mumbai reduced Meghalaya to 6-2 in 3.1 overs.

Thakur’s hat-trick is only the fifth by a Mumbai bowler in Ranji Trophy history. Before this match, Thakur had picked 17 wickets this season at 28.47.
