Alvaro Morata set for deadline day move from AC Milan to Galatasaray: Reports

Spanish forward Alvaro Morata is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move from Serie A giants AC Milan to Turkish Super Lig powerhouse Galatasaray on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. The move comes as a surprise, given that Morata only joined Milan six months ago, but it also presents an opportunity for both the club and the player.

According to reports from reliable sources such as Fabrizio Romano, Morata has given the green light for a deadline-day switch to Galatasaray in the January transfer window. If the deal goes through, he will join an already formidable attacking lineup featuring Victor Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, and Dries Mertens. Despite his talent and experience, Morata’s time at Milan has been underwhelming, with just six goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. His inconsistent form and the club’s struggles in Serie A have led to speculation about his future, culminating in this potential transfer.

Morata’s departure could also have ripple effects beyond Milan and Galatasaray. Reports indicate that AC Milan is exploring the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as a replacement. Rashford, who has faced a dip in form this season, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and Milan could see him as an ideal reinforcement to reinvigorate their attacking options.

Currently seventh in the Serie A standings, Milan has endured a significant drop from their second-place finish last season. If Morata leaves, the club will be under even greater pressure to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes. With the title race slipping away and Champions League qualification at stake, Milan’s decision in the coming hours could be crucial in shaping the remainder of their season.
