WPL 2025: Alyssa Healy likely to miss upcoming season due to injury; UP Warriorz captain’s spot opens up

Australia captain Alyssa Healy, who also captains Lucknow-based franchise UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League, has hinted at potentially missing the 2025 edition of the league.

The keeper-batter has been plagued by a recurring foot injury which particularly flared up during the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates and during India’s ODI tour Down Under last year.

The issues, arising from ruptures to her plantar fascia, took her out of action multiple times, including from the Women’s Big Bash League. When she returned, her load was lessened, with the wicketkeeping gloves handed to Beth Mooney.
