The 25-year-old demonstrated remarkable performance throughout 2024, claiming 36 wickets across 18 matches.
Arshdeep’s exceptional wicket-taking ability is reflected in his strike rate of 10.80, particularly notable given his responsibilities during powerplay and final overs.
In terms of T20I wickets in a calendar year, Arshdeep ranked fifth globally, behind Hong Kong’s Ehsan Khan (46), UAE’s Junaid Siddique (40), and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga (38) and Saudi Arabia’s Usman Najeeb (38).
Among these bowlers, Hasaranga was the only one representing a full-member nation, with all others playing more matches than Arshdeep.

His most impressive bowling performance of the year came against the USA in the World Cup group stage, where he recorded figures of 4/9, showcasing his adaptability across different pitches.
His 17 wickets in the tournament were the joint highest alongside Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi.
His exceptional bowling proved crucial in India’s thrilling seven-run triumph against South Africa in the final at Barbados.
During the decisive game, he delivered impressive figures of 2 for 20. Bowling the 19th over, Arshdeep displayed remarkable control, allowing only four runs, which enabled Hardik Pandya to secure the victory in the final over.
Arshdeep has established himself as India’s most successful bowler in this format, claiming 97 wickets.
His excellence was further acknowledged as he secured a spot in the ICC T20I Team of the Year 2024, joining fellow Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
