Suryakumar Yadav’s Indian team made three changes to their playing XI in the 4th T20I match vs England. Despite being 2-1 up in the series, the Gautam Gambhir-led Indian team management decided to shake things up on Friday, January 31.

After losing their last match in Rajkot, India brought in Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh into their line-up, deciding to rest Mohammed Shami, Washington Sundar, and Dhruv Jurel. The trio did not perform up to expectations in Rajkot and faced the axe on Friday.

Shami, who returned to international cricket after more than a year, did not look in full flow in the Rajkot game. The management decided to bring in Arshdeep Singh in his place. Arshdeep was rested from the Rajkot game. Washington Sundar and Dhruv Jurel, who have struggled in their respective positions, were replaced by Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube. While Rinku returned to the line-up after a two-match absence due to a back spasm, Dube was brought in to bring a little more explosive power to the middle order.

“Hopefully we put up an entertaining show for this crowd. A little bit on the drier, put runs on the board, and defend. Arshdeep comes in place of Shami, Rinku comes in for Jurel, and we have had some firepower – Shivam Dube comes in for Washington Sundar,” Suryakumar Yadav confirmed at the toss on Friday, January 31.

The visitors brought in young Jacob Bethell, who was out due to illness in the previous two T20Is. Jamie Smith, who picked up a calf injury in the previous match, made way for the England youngster. Saqib Mahmood replaced Wood in the line-up.
